This session will explore how school leadership teams can improve the Primary School through self-review and planned use of ICT. In Spring 2006, Becta launched the self-review framework. This session will offer guidance on the best practice processes and principles that can assist you in improving your school through ICT. This will be illustrated and supported by exemplars and experiences from Primary Schools on how the self-review framework has helped them make improvements in ICT. To provide clear advice tips and guidance on the use of ICT within specific focus areas of Design and Technology in secondary schools and in primary Design and Technology. The session will also provide background information on developing e-confidence within Design and Technology in both primary and secondary phases. Delegates will have an increased awareness of: A diverse range of ICT applications in Design and Technology, How ICT enhances work in specific focus areas, The concept of e - confidence in relation to D&T teaching and learning.

This session will explore how e-portfolios assist in realising the learner journey and how they can integrate with learning platforms, e-assessment and the developing strategies regarding personalisation. It will explain the current position regarding e-portfolios in government thinking and offer examples of how they have made an impact to learner achievement. Discussions will be invited around how to introduce the concept of learning logs and individual learning plans into delivery methodologies, and will look at the general benefits and issues of introducing e-portfolios into learning.
